Rosi Braidotti

Posted By Politybooks

Rosi Braidotti is a leading figure in contemporary philosophy and feminist theory, whose work has probed some of the most cutting-edge questions in the social sciences concerning selfhood, gender and the nature of humanity. Braidotti holds joint Australian-Italian citizenship and is currently Distinguished University Professor at Utrecht University as well as director of the Centre for the Humanities in Utrecht. Her work The Posthuman, published by Polity in 2013, has become a landmark text in recent discussions of the widely-debated topic of the increasingly blurred boundaries between the human and its others. This work has built on a lifetime of distinguished research into poststructuralist feminist theory, ethnicity and human subjectivity in a world marked by technological innovation and globalization, and was followed in 2019 by Posthuman Knowledge. Her other works published with Polity include Patterns of Dissonance, Metamorphoses and Transpositions.
